Gyan-Key : read-write-speak - A SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR THE STUDENTS OF RURAL INDIA

The purpose of this program is to provide opportunities for students in rural areas,

who are often subject to harsh learning condition, so with Gyan-Key project

they can have access to a library in their school.

Open minded

Develop reading habits

The plan is to make the dream of setting up a proper library come true, thus providing students with access to information and knowledge.

One point to bear in mind is that these books deal with a wide variety of subjects and are not solely curriculum books. In fact this library aims at opening the mind of the children by giving them access to a range of first-rate literature books translated into the local language to develop and promote reading habits

It's a program set up for students and by students. First, the library is not under the control of an organization but is monitored by a girl student (Gyan-Key monitor) from each respective school. Moreover, the students are also encouraged to donate a book on their birthday regardless of price and relevance. Thanks to this approach we hope to create a feeling of belonging towards the library where people can come together to share, learn and grow as a community. The empowerment of villages is part and parcel of this concept.

Library is manage by student girl

For students and by student

Create a feeling of belonging

By putting girl students in charge of monitoring the library, the program gives them responsibility and allows them to show their management skills. This helps to struggle against the misconception prevailing in poor and middle class village families, that the woman does not have a social standing in India. In addition, a link is created between the woman from the city who makes the donation and the girl in the village, who manages the library. We hope this link will inspire rural girl students and give them a taste of success.
